Best of 2014

Best of 2014
that was the year that we had after the year that we got married.
it was a good one. We increased our nuclear family by 50%

"We can caption the pictures but I can't really recollect the goings ons of 2014 "-Ryan

Emma took Ryan climbing with the crew and they just happened to be doing some thing that was completely new for Emma too-Aid climbing up "The Pickle" in Arches. Aid climbing means "I would describe Aid climbing as like climbing a melty ladder"-Ryan, but we both made it to the top.

Emma kept working on making stuff out of wood. She can't decide if she likes tearing apart pallets or building the furniture better, (using a crowbar for a couple of hours after doing therapy is rather therapeutic)

Emma ran away from home for about 2 weeks, she sought the simplicity of bat infested houses, scorpion-crawling-outhouses, and vacationing with New Yorkers for the perfect get-away (Ryan's version) I was blessed to be able to get paid to go serve the people of nicaragua and facilitate girls from my program having a great experience there.

We went to Hawaii which was an awesome vacay and we even got a picture of Ryan smiling!

Emma kept gaining weight and thought horizontal stripes were a good idea at the family reunion. (Ryan decided to skip it)

I took the California McAdams on a canyoneering adventure (apparently without giving them a clear explanation of what to expect) and they were good sports as we explored a new canyon in the San Rafael swell-Jessica and crew bravely jumped into cow pie infested pools of unknown depth while listening to a thunderstorm move gradually closer. I had a blast...when I finally said "We'd better get out of the canyon" I've never seen Jessica climb so fast!
Emma dragged Ryan on lots of photo adventures...Ryan's alternate caption"The bubous exterior of the pregnant posterior..."alternate caption #2 "One of Aliya's many photo outings while on the inside of mama"

After Emma quit her job she decided she needed to provide for the family by fishing every day for the 2 weeks before Aliya was born.

The best part of the Year-Our beautiful, perfect, squiggle bum baby girl Aliya was born and our hearts just grew and grew.

Her favorite activities as of late: staring off into the distance in quiet contemplation, making triple-spit-bubbles, kicking mama in the stomach from the outside, furious eating, epic pooping, grunting, and pooping in recently changed diapers.

Runners up to the top moments of the year:
Playing Star Trek make-believe adult style

Driving 3000 miles in an RV with 2 pregnant women and few stops

Riding Jared's Razor while experiencing morning sickness

The Jelly Belly Factory!

Emma finding evidence of aliens on the beach

Ryan taking flattering candid shots of me.

Pretty stuff.  We got the be the A in FAMILY.

A good year!
